Your creative work belongs to you.

ABOUT RARE DATA
Rare Data is an independent music and software studio in Southern California. We make tools that help people turn their own sounds, habits, and hardware into something worth keeping.
Our apps do not harvest your recordings, samples, MIDI performances, or projects. The work stays on your machine. You decide what to export, share, and keep.
A good tool fits into the session. We build around sampling, hardware, performance, and the useful moments between an idea and a finished track.
Your sounds should keep moving. Useful file formats and practical interchange let you take your music into the machines and software you already know.
Rare Data is a small studio. The same person who makes the music builds the software and reads the support mail. Product decisions begin with the work.
WHAT WE MAKE
THE PERSON BEHIND THE WORK
Rare Data was founded by Mac Digi, a producer who began building the tools he wanted in his own studio. Years spent with samplers and grooveboxes shaped a simple aim: make the useful things easier to reach, and leave space for the person making the music.
That story is part of Rare Data. What matters next is what you make with it.
The apps and this website do different jobs. Optional downloads, newsletter signups, support messages, and website measurement are described in our privacy policy. We make that distinction explicit.
